Megell has been inconsistent the last few years, with 21 wins, 21 losses, an ERA of 4.56 and 346 strikeoutsBrett Baty at 2B and Acuna at 3B: Baty is typically at 3rd, but he’s getting reps at second today. Acuna who normally plays at short is getting the start at 3B. Overall, the Mets are trying to determine who is best suited for one of the last roster spots.Jose Siri’s Speed, Defense, and Slugger?: The Mets brought in Siri for his elite speed and defense, and this game is another opportunity to see how he impacts both aspects. One other area to highlight is his hitting at the plate. He’s made some adjustments at the plate that seem to have paid off. The last few games, he’s hit 3 run home runs. The Outfield Mix: With McNeil in left, Siri in center, and Canario in right, the Mets have a fun mix of speed, defense, and potential pop. How these guys gel together could give us a hint about who will lock down starting spots when the real games begin.4 Things to Watch for the CardinalsMasyn Winn in the Leadoff Spot: The Cardinals clearly want to see what Winn can do at the top of the order. If he can get on base consistently and set the table for the big bats, he could be a real asset in this role.Willson Contreras Playing First Base: We’re used to seeing Contreras behind the plate, but today, he’s playing first. This could mean the Cardinals are looking at ways to keep his bat in the lineup while giving him a break from catching.Nolan Arenado Being Nolan Arenado: Arenado is a guy you always want to watch—elite defense, big-time bat, and a key piece of the Cardinals’ offense. Spring Training is a good time to see how locked in he is heading into the season.Checking Out the Young Outfielders: Scott, Vilade, and Koperniak are getting their shot in the outfield today. These guys are all trying to earn spots or at least show they belong on the radar for future call-ups. Watching them play could give us an idea of who might make an impact later on.More content below:
